Our Story
Garret was born and raised in Door County, Wisconsin and was first introduced to 3D art through a class where he learned Norwegian flat-plane carving. In 2010, he was introduced to chainsaw carving after attending a chainsaw competition in Pennsylvania, and a chainsaw has been his tool of choice ever since when creating wood into art. Also working as a landscaper in Door County for over 12 years, Garret also grew to love stonework and ventured into stone carving as well around 2010. Whether in wood or stone, Garret enjoys carving content that is nature-based, especially wildlife. However, Garret often takes on new subject materials and is not afraid to venture outside of wildlife and has carved other subjects like dragons, pets, and memorials. Garret always believes in taking the time to provide a quality work of art through paying close attention to detail and by working with his clients on design and throughout the carving process.
Jessi was born and raised near Milwaukee and after earning her bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater, moved to Oshkosh to complete her master’s degree in professional counseling from UW Oshkosh. After graduating in 2011, Jessi has worked as an Academic Advisor at Ripon College, UW Oshkosh, and is currently working full-time at UW-Stevens Point. Art has also been a part of Jessi’s life through playing music, writing fiction, and creating digital art. It wasn’t until she partnered with Garret that she took on painting but loves using color to bring his wooden artwork to life. She assists Garret through managing the business, creating and maintaining the website, marketing materials, and more. Jessi also connects deeply to nature through gardening and practicing herbalism, alongside hikes with her trusty elbow crutches! In 2024, Jessi began another educational journey and is currently working on completing the Web Development and Design Specialist program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) to further her skill sets in design and technology.
Garret and Jessi met in 2018 after first connecting through an online dating platform. Feeling immediately at home with one another, they knew they were soulmates. They married in 2019 and moved in together into an apartment in Waupaca, WI. Knowing they both wanted to end up with land out in the country, in 2022 they found and moved to a 7-acre wooded property outside the city of Plainfield, WI, in the town of Oasis and are parents to one orange cat and two black cats.
